The rich cultural
heritage found in the area becomes apparent through the many dedicated monuments,
battlefields, art galleries, and local people who are always willing to
share a story. The beauty and solitude that Story affords is a great muse
for writers and artists alike.
Lying just off the
Bozeman Trail, Story's rich history lures travelers and American history
buffs alike to sites such as Fort Phil Kearney, the Historic Wagon Box Fight,
and the Fetterman Battlefield. Within easy reach by car is the Little Bighorn
Battlefield, the site of General Custer's Last Stand with the Lakota Sioux,
Arapaho and Cheyenne Indians in June, 1876. The deep respect for the cross-cultural
relevance of America's Civil War years is impressive and awe-inspiring.
Snuggled
comfortably in the Big Horn Mountains between Sheridan and Buffalo, Story is
home to a large amount of wildlife, friendly folk, and beauty that you simply
won't find anywhere else. Nestled in the mature pine forest is our beautiful
mountain cabin. North Piney Creek (or 'Crick' as the locals tend to say) murmurs
serenely right off the front porch on its way to meet up with Big Piney Creek
just a little ways down the road. Inside, you'll find all the comforts of home.
This newly renovated classic mountain log cabin is perfect for enjoying the
history, beauty and solitude that can only be found in the Big Horn West.
Welcome to Story,
Wyoming! Take off your hat and enjoy some of the best that the West has
to offer.
